Well what an amazing day!
It’s not often you get to be involved with such a large community event especially one that takes over a city centre.
Mat our MD is a very keen cyclist, ever heard of all the gear no idea? Well that’s Mat. After he watched the Grand Prix in 2016 he knew that Actuate had to get involved. What he saw was an amazing opportunity for riders of any age and ability to get involved on a variety of races and really sow how strong the cycling community is.
We are all so used to seeing big races like the Tour de France that focuses on GC riders and their bikes but so see something home grown and community focused is amazing.
There was an electric feeling from start to Finish with all the races being streamed live on the net and via big screens around the city centre.
Mat was even given the privilege of presenting the medals to the under 16 boys and girls although he does need to learn the order that they go in.
Chris Pook who organises the event said:
“By all accounts the event was a real success; we had great weather, excellent crowds and riders really enjoyed the new course. We received a lot of positive feedback about the big screen, information flow on Social Media in the lead up and immediately after, live event internet streaming, Rollapaluza and the general feel/atmosphere in The Square.“
We’ll defiantly be back there next year
